12/12/09 The last few days have been uneventful just hanging out in Rock Sound. It had been hot and humid the last two days. Lots of bug bites from hanging around Eleuthera Island, and more as they arrived in Rock Sound. They were not perpared with bug spray yet, so they had a lot of bites that night. Add heat, humidity and bug bites, lets just say sleeping is not comfortable.
12/11/09 Romeo and Juliette spent the day picking up more bug spray, calamine lotion and alcohol, (both kinds, five cases of beer, the local beer was $38.00 per case and Coors light $48.00 not cheap). They also had to pick up propane and the nice guy who fill the tank, helped them pick up the beer, and gave them a ride back to the dingy. Triple A had PMS and John Doe was too hot, patience's was wearing thin, but with all the help from the people in town it turned out to be a nice day. It would have be hard to get along if the people were not so nice in Rock Sound.
There are no grocery stores or marinas in the Exumas and very limited internet, so this it. Romeo and Juliette plan on staying for a month. So Romeo had to go back and forth picking up 5 gal jugs of diesel all evening, seems the old marina was take out by Hurricane Floyd and never rebuilt. They could not get a internet signal at all the day, which was strange because they had it the night before. Juliette cooked a nice steak dinner and turned on the anchor light for Romeo so could find his way back to the boat. He returned safely to the boat in the dark with his jerry cans filled and ready to eat.
