SPANISH WELLS, BAHAMAS

11/30/09  Up early as always, another night of flat seas, another good night sleep.  That could change as we head to town. Romeo wants to do a oil change in Spanish Wells. Then we will hire a pilot to get  thru Devil’s Backbone a very hard to navigate area, with lots of coral ,shoal and reefs. Dangerous if you don’t know the water. The pilot will take us Dunmore Town on Harbour Island. We read it is a great spot to cruise to and worth the extra  cost. We will let you know.

Just want to say Thank you!!!!  To our brother Herculis for managing our business for us.

Without you we would not be doing this trip. WE MISS YOU ALL AND GIVE KISSES TO MY PUPPY DOG!!!

  Spanish Wells will be a stop on the way back thru, John Doe was very happy with the weather conditions and lucky to find a pilot so quickly.

Cruising to Spanish Wells, Bahamas with Gab

11/28/09  5:00 AM  John Doe gets a call on the radio from Gab. Weather looks good out side and all reports a good to go.  They agree to leave a 7:00 am @6:30 am Gab is circling  GETLOST, guess were John Doe is? Lets just say he not very happy with Gab and his promptness.

Gab has decided to become our guide. John Doe pulls the anchors and we set off. Gab tries all day to turn Romeo into a follower, but it doesn’t happen Romeo chose his own path and trust his chart plotter.

Juliette catches dinner a Grey Snapper.   We arrive safely. Gab is going to the Bluffs and we are staying alone by some Islands called Minks Patch we are finally alone.  The fish was good!!! Gab grounded his boat,  glad Romeo is not a follower.

11/29/09  Wakeup  7:00 am, glassy flat water. Coffee out in the cockpit with  no bugs,  no internet. So  Triple A  spends all day writing this blog and Romeo replaced the main sail line.And a dingy ride  to the beach and  to go for a swim 86 degrees.  Steak and  Cocktails in the cockpit tonight.

Nassau, Bahamas another storm

11/27/09  3:00am WOKEN BY WIND AGAIN!!! Romeo jumps out of  bed looks out the window we are getting closer to the sail boat and Gabs boat the EMILY CHRISTINA  . We are dragging our anchor and  again 25 knot winds coming form  NE ? John Doe runs out in his underwear to have a look,  he yells in for Triple A to get a jacket for him. Juliette gets him a jacket and  swim shorts she tries to get him to put them on he says, NO HE IS ALREADY WET!!!  Now we know why sailors are found dead in their underwear.  It took about 2 hours for ROMEO to reset the anchors. And Juliette goes back to bed. Romeo is pretty shook up so he stays up all night watching a  DVD Curb your Enthusiasm. Rest up the next day, slept  in just relaxing. Gab calls on the Radio wants to know if we are going to town? At first Triple A responds NO, but thinks again and says yes after remembering wanting a few things from the store. Romeo wants to get some more cruising books and charts. It was so strange walking thru town all the noises all around us very loud. After being on the water 24/7.        We walked around and purchased some books. And headed to the FOOD STORE  as they called it.  And back to the EMILY CHRISTINA to drop off Gab he gave us a chart book because he had a new one. It has got to be a collectors item dated 1979. He is a nice man.

   Got to bed early, around 9:00pm the music starts  at a water front bar, so loud it sound like the band is on the boat with us, at  around 3:00 am the band is done!!! YEAH!! WISH I HAD BEER THIRTHY LATER SO I COULD  HAVE ENJOYED THE PARTY!!!! Another sleepless night.
