Anchored in Normans Pond again

1/10/2010   Wind is starting to pick up the cold front is here.

Wardrick Wells to normans pond 034

Morning started with a nice sunrise, but the wind is 15 to 20 knots. Romeo and Juliette went on a dingy ride to the beach. On the way they ran into 4 people in a dingy that were anchored outside of the pond on the lee side of the wind on the Eastern Shore in a small cove with a nice beach.

They walk over to the beach and could not believe it there were three Catamarans anchored there, it looked great almost flat as a lake and they were not stuck in the pond and they had a nice fire on the beach. It looks like a new place that Romeo will anchor when the wind is N,NW. The pond was not bad, but they were all sitting pretty with no direct wind and no rolling at all. There were 14 other boats in the pond and they heard a lot of other boats on the radio on the South Anchorage, so Romeo drove the dingy to the other side of the pond. The water was rough and coming over the  top of dingy, John Doe went thru a couple of  big waves and Triple A was wet from head to toe after she repeated  calling him( you  bas#$^% ), twice for getting her all wet, he tried hard not to laugh is @ss off. He then got out of the current the ride was a lot smoother and personalities were too.

They left the dingy on the beach and walked a few miles to look at the boats on the south side. They met a nice couple  in a catamaran named TWO OF A KIND, Dianne and Bob from Michigan. They all had a good time talking and  hope maybe they will run into them down south later. This Dianne and Bobs first time in the Bahamas also. Romeo and Juliette were running out of time, so they would have to run to the south end so the could get to the dingy before dark. Triple A cut the conversation short and they both ran most of the way. The south end had 17 boats anchored, the wind was whipping and the boats were all rolling and it was very cold. There were 3 ladies trying to call their boat by yelling and whistling  from the dock, it was not working for them and they looked cold. Romeo gave them his hand held radio to call the boat to pick them up, they were very thankful he came by.

Once again Romeo and Juliette would have to run 2 miles back to the dingy. They made it safely back to the boat before sunset.
